13 Best AI SEO Agencies in the UK for 2026
Search behaviour has moved. Pew Research Center tracked 900 US adults in March 2025 and found they clicked a traditional result link in 8% of visits when a Google AI summary appeared, against 15% when it did not. Ahrefs analysed 300,000 keywords and found AI Overviews correlated with a 34.5% lower click-through rate for the top-ranking page. Fewer clicks per search means users often read an answer without visiting any site, so you are judged on whether your brand is cited and recommended inside that answer, as well as where it ranks and how much traffic follows.
We compared 13 agencies on AI search expertise, technical capability, authority building and measurement. The table shows each at a glance and the profiles follow.

Their technical depth sets them apart. iPullRank works with enterprise clients in finance, media, and ecommerce, tackling complex challenges around JavaScript rendering, log file analysis, large scale site architecture, and content optimisation. This level of technical capability is increasingly important for AI SEO, where how your content is structured, rendered, and accessed by crawlers directly impacts whether AI platforms can find and cite it.
While iPullRank is US based, we have included them here because their technical approach and AI search expertise are relevant to any brand operating internationally. For enterprise businesses with complex digital infrastructure, iPullRank offers a level of technical AI SEO capability that few UK agencies can match.
What is AI SEO, and how does it differ from GEO and AEO?
AI SEO is the work of making your brand easy for AI search tools to find, understand, trust and cite. Those tools include Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Microsoft Copilot. It builds on traditional SEO rather than replacing it: the same crawlable, well structured pages feed both Google rankings and AI answers. Google's ranking algorithms and the models behind AI answers draw on overlapping signals, so users get an answer assembled from several sources, and the information those sources hold about your brand shapes the search results they see.
You will also see GEO, AEO and LLMO used for similar work. The labels overlap and agencies use them differently:
- GEO (generative engine optimisation): earning citations and mentions inside generated answers from tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity.
- AEO (answer engine optimisation): structuring content so answer engines can lift a direct, accurate response, including featured snippets and AI Overviews.
- LLMO (large language model optimisation): shaping how language models describe your brand, mostly through entity clarity and third party mentions.
Treat the labels as a prompt to ask what the agency changes on your site and off it, because the levers underneath are the same. If an agency sells one of them as a standalone fix, ask why. For citation focused work, see our guide to GEO agencies or our GEO agency service.
What does an AI SEO agency actually do?
A credible team covers six jobs, and each should appear as a line in the proposal. Good agencies use AI tools to speed up research, but the insights and recommendations should come from people who understand your business:
- AI visibility audit. Tracks which buyer prompts mention you across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Mode, and which competitors and sources appear instead.
- Entity and schema work. Keeps Organisation, Product, Article and FAQ markup and your brand details consistent, so systems recognise who you are and what you sell.
- Content restructuring. Rewrites key pages to answer the question first, with clear headings, specifics and sources an engine can lift.
- Authority building. Digital PR, reviews and third party mentions, because AI tools weigh what other people say about you as well as your own site.
- Technical access. Crawlability, rendering, indexation in Google and Bing, and robots rules for AI crawlers, plus optional files such as llms.txt.
- Measurement. Citation share, AI referral traffic in GA4 and, ideally, assisted revenue, so the retainer is judged on commercial results.
How we evaluated these AI SEO agencies
We scored each agency on four things: AI search expertise, technical foundations (schema, entity work and crawlability), authority building through digital PR and links, and how the team measures AI visibility. We also looked at each agency's approach, team and published case studies. We left out agencies that had only renamed existing SEO services as AI SEO. Rankings reflect our editorial judgement of each agency's published services. We include ourselves, ranked first for ecommerce brands. That is an editorial position, not a neutral verdict, so use the table and profiles to check the fit for your own business.
How much does an AI SEO agency cost in the UK?
Few UK agencies publish prices, so treat any single number with caution. In a July 2026 UK ranking, Rank4AI lists entry points of £100 per month for AwarenessAI's monitoring dashboard, £800 per month for its own services and £1,950 per month for MarGen, an AI only agency. Those are starting prices for narrower scopes.
A full programme for an ecommerce business that combines technical SEO, content and digital PR is scoped individually, so expect a quote above those entry points and ask for a breakdown by deliverable. Judge the fee against what a cited, converting product page is worth, not against the lowest quote.
How to choose the right AI SEO agency
Start with your goal: more qualified traffic, more revenue from product pages, or protecting your brand in AI answers. Then test how the team thinks. Ask each shortlisted agency to walk you through its approach and strategy for businesses like yours, and to show performance data and search results from comparable campaigns. Choose an agency that treats AI SEO as part of core SEO work, not a separate service disconnected from it. Ask these questions:
- Which prompts and platforms will you track for us, and how often?
- What will you change on our site in the first 90 days?
- How do you separate AI referral revenue from organic and paid in reporting?
- Who on the team does the technical and content work?
Walk away from these red flags:
- Guaranteed citations or rankings in ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews.
- Reporting that shows only traffic and keyword rankings.
- No method beyond "AI powered" tools.
- Long contracts with no milestones.
How to measure AI SEO results
Set a baseline before work starts, then track three layers. Visibility is how often your brand is cited or recommended for a fixed set of buyer prompts. Traffic is sessions from AI referrers such as chatgpt.com and perplexity.ai in GA4, alongside Google rankings. Revenue is assisted conversions and leads. Answers change between runs, so review trends monthly rather than daily. Pair the data with qualitative insights from sales calls and customer surveys, and compare brand visibility and performance against two or three named competitors. Results depend on your existing authority, content quality and competition, and building the trust signals AI tools weigh takes sustained effort rather than a quick fix.
Why we would start ecommerce AI SEO with product data, not llms.txt
Many AI SEO proposals open with an llms.txt file, a new content hub and a PR push. For a Shopify store we would spend the first budget on something less exciting: product and collection data. Shopping style answers depend on structured facts an engine can verify, so Product and Offer schema, GTINs, accurate price and availability, and reviews that match what the page shows decide whether a product can be recommended at all.
Collection pages come next. They answer the "best X for Y" prompts and are usually thin on Shopify themes. Rewriting them with real buying guidance, specifics and sources beats publishing another blog post, and it improves the results shoppers see in both classic search results and AI answers. Digital PR matters, but we would fund it after the product data is clean, because a mention that points at a page the engine cannot parse earns nothing.
We would also judge any agency, ourselves included, on revenue from AI referrals and assisted conversions, not on how often a brand name appears in a prompt test. For the technical detail, see our guides to Shopify schema markup, GEO for ecommerce and agentic commerce.
Final thoughts on choosing an AI SEO agency
AI search will keep changing, so favour agencies that explain their method, measure revenue and fix the fundamentals over those selling the newest acronym. Shortlist two or three from the table, ask the questions above and compare each proposed strategy line by line, because the best strategies for one business rarely suit another.
