War Paint is the UK-based makeup brand for men. Their mission and ethos is to break the stigma that makeup is solely for women, providing cosmetics to help men feel more comfortable in their own skin. War Paint required support and strategic guidance to audit and grow their exisiting store - our membership was a perfect match. War Paint had a variety of requirements such as improving specific KPIs and new onsite features such as a countdown in realtime for Christmas onto their store.

We built War Paint's bespoke website using the Shopify platform to benefit from the cutting-edge technology including advanced API's, access to more intricate content management tools and app integrations to help both deliver a more powerful customer experience, and provide War Paint with more sophisticated backend tools to make management of their online store easy and effective. Before commencing the development stage of the store, we carried out an extensive discovery of War Paint to immerse ourselves with their brand identity and long-term mission to make sure we set the proper foundations for the store to future-proof the store and help allow the strategic objecives of the company to be met. The Shopify theme we create at Charle are built bespoke for our merchants. Unlike the default presets that are typically used for the majority of Shopify stores, we use no templates during the design process to deliver a completely unique browsing experience that stands out from the competition.

After carrying out the in-depth design and auditing phases, our expert Shopify development team began building and improving War Paint's online store leveraging the best Shopify technology and practices to ensure performance and functionality were optimised througout the process. War Paint wanted a variety of dynamic features such as scrolling animations, countdown timers, auto-playing HD videos, and 3D visual technology throughout their product and landing pages. These features can be bandwidth intensive and so it was paramount that loading times were kept minimal to not limit the customer's experience. Our developmental team also conducted technical audits improving site speed where possible. A large focus for War Paint was improving the conversion funnel from the product page, so we re-designed the template from the ground up and saw amazing results.
