They are also home to The Prince Philip Maritime Collections Centre and the Caird Library and Archive. RMG is dedicated to enriching people’s understanding of the sea, the exploration of space, and Britain's role in world history. Royal Museums Greenwich chose Charle to design, develop and launch a Shopify store that not only embodied a brand-consistent and familiar look and feel but also leveraged the best technology that Shopify has to offer. We designed, built and launched a new theme store for RMG as part of their future growth ecommerce strategy.

Royal Museums Greenwich delivers enrichment and entertainment to its attendees and delivering a consistent and branded experience was vital to the project. Our brief was not only to use the new store as an opportunity to develop the brand in line with the main organisation's website but also to create an experience that immersed customers in their products, allowing customers to discover the range with ease. Working with the brand's ecommerce team, we conducted a thorough theme selection phase to form the base of the project. Following this, our creative team designed and customised the design to deliver a unique experience onsite for both desktop and mobile covering every step of the buying journey. Following the design phase, our development team built a cutting-edge customer Shopify theme leveraging Shopify's native CMS called online store 2.0. The store is fast, easy to use and device responsive leveraging the very best technology that Shopify has to offer.

Maximising sales and average order value is a key element to everyone's ecommerce strategy and we delivered a store that offered product suggestions at key stages of the buying journey. RMG's new store offers product recommendations from the product pages, whilst the inline cart offers a progress bar to incentivise free shipping and also suggests product upsells. Lastly, RMG leverages upsell smart pop-ups to incentivise impulse purchases to maximise the cart size before checkout. Giving visitors the option to give a voluntary donation was also vital and included within the cart page.
