Blogging is growing quicker than you can say "Should I start blogging". 53% of marketers say blogging is their top content marketing priority - but "why" I hear you cry. Companies who blog receive 97% more links to their website - period.
Recently we worked with lifestyle blogger Lauren Evie. Lauren had a free template blog which just didn't boast the fantastic high quality content she was posting. Lauren approached us needing help and we said "game on". We built a close relationship with Lauren and conducted in-depth competitor research, we understood Lauren's personality and goals. Our number one priority was to produce a platform that was functional, effective and captured who Lauren is as a person.
Here are our three top tips for bloggers:
- Tell the world! Use any means you can find to tell the world about your blog. You could have the best content in the world but if no-ones reading it - it's pointless. Utilise all social media platforms and get your friends to share your content too!
- Free templates from blogging platforms are great when your starting out but once established look for professional execution of a bespoke design to have your personality screaming out of your readers screens.
- Content should be your number one priority. Capture awesome photos and spend time planning material your readers really want to see.
We crafted a bespoke wordpress theme for Lauren using the following key approach: clear brand strategy, function-orientated web design, social media continuity and search engine optimisation (SEO). The end result was a aesthetically pleasing website that completments Lauren's blog posts. We've even put animated stars and all that jazz.
Lauren says
"Charle took everything I wanted from my blog and brand into consideration and transferred that into a smooth and beautiful site for me. I couldn't be happier."
